Anchor pin for Zippo petrol lighters
Here are image links and information for the worlds strongest hinge pin for petrol lighters
THE TITAN HINGE PIN FOR PETROL LIGHTERS
This high quality universal anchor pin for petrol lighters (Fits Zippo) is made from grade 5 TC4 forged titanium. It carries a manufacturers lifetime warranty and meets ISO9001:2008 quality requirements. I have taken the weakest point of any petrol lighter and made it the strongest!!! The TITAN HINGE PIN is the worlds strongest hinge pin for petrol lighters and will fit Zippo; it can be used to replace bent/worn pins or upgrade your existing unit. Remember the Anchor never breaks. Seven of my Zippo lighters have been upgraded with the THP. An excellent results warrants a high recommendation for the worlds strongest petrol lighter hinge pin.
*This is not a Zippo product as Zippo only use standard steel hinge pins

What is titanium?
Titanium alloys are metals that contain a mixture of titanium and other chemical elements. Such alloys have very high tensile strength and toughness (even at extreme temperatures). They are light in weight, non magnetic and have extraordinary corrosion resistance with the ability to withstand extreme temperatures. However, the high cost of both raw materials and processing limit their use to military applications, aircraft, spacecraft, medical devices, connecting rods on expensive sports cars and some premium sports equipment and consumer electronics. Auto manufacturers Porsche and Ferrari also use titanium alloys in engine components due to its durable properties in these high stress engine environments.
Although "commercially pure" titanium has acceptable mechanical properties and has been used for orthopedic and dental implants, for most applications titanium is alloyed with small amounts of aluminium and vanadium, typically 6% and 4% respectively, by weight. This mixture has a solid solubility which varies dramatically with temperature, allowing it to undergo precipitation strengthening. This heat treatment process is carried out after the alloy has been worked into its final shape but before it is put to use, allowing much easier fabrication of a high-strength product.

FLOPPY ZIPPO HINGE TIGHTENING INSTRUCTIONS
Here is some useful advice on repairing loose Zippo hinges
Apart from hinge pin wear, a floppy hinge is the result of years of use and abuse. Those cool tricks you see on the Zippo tricks videos are a sure way to wreck your hinge. here is a method to bring some help to floppy hinges. Take a large blade flat head screwdriver and mount it blade up in a vice. Rest the hinge of the lighter on the edge of the blade; take another large blade flat head screwdriver and line it up so the hinge and the two screwdrivers are perfectly centred. Give the top screwdriver a few light taps with a SMALL hammer.
The idea is to centre everything and pinch the hinge shut a bit. it takes a little practice to line everything up right but be patient and don't whack on it. You want light taps and everything must be lined up right. the end result will be a much less floppy hinge. don't expect the hinge to be perfectly tight. it never is even on new lighters. The insert and the flip cam are what keeps things snug on a complete lighter. Over time the standard hinge pin will wear and needs replacing. My choice would always be the TITAN HINGE PIN for lifetime satisfaction.
GRINDING WHEEL FOR STANDARD SIZE PETROL LIGHTERS
After years of use it's common for the knurled edges of the grinding wheel to wear
resulting in a poor flint strike action.
These high quality grinding wheels can bring new life to your lighter.
(The old grinding wheel can be removed either by using a rivet punch or a very small drill piece.)
Your replacement kit comes with one grinding wheel, support pin which requires a 2.3mm rivet gun to secure.

ANTI-FUEL EVAPORATION GASKET FOR PETROL LIGHTERS
ANTI-FUEL EVAPORATION GASKET FOR STANDARD SIZE PETROL LIGHTERS
FITS ALL MAJOR BRANDS OF PETROL LIGHTERS
A common problem with petrol lighters can be fast fuel evaporation.
This gasket fits perfectly on the bottom of the insert and prevents any fuel loss,
it is made from the same rubber as car tyres so is very high grade.
It has a flap for easy filling of fluid and a slot to store a spare flint.
I have used these on a few of my Zippo lighters and they fit perfectly.

THE SAFETY TRANSPORTER FOR PETROL LIGHTERS U.K.
I INVENTED THE 'SAFETY TRANSPORTER' for PETROL LIGHTERS
(Oil Lighters).
My design was mainly for the transportation of used lighters but has been a proven success for new units alike. It was paramount that I designed the TRI LOCK SYSTEM because a petrol lighter when under x-ray represents a combustible unit (Explosive). Obviously no person should be subject to a potential HAZARD of this magnitude.
I suffered this situation when I won a high grade petrol lighter through e-bay; (I hasten to add e-bay are not responsible for public ignorance.) After waiting patiently finally my precious lighter arrived - DISASTER!!! I was disturbed at the packaging and the public dispatch mode. I have two YOUNG STEP CHILDREN who luckily enough did not encounter this DANGEROUS parcel. AN EASY TEAR OVER SIZED ENVELOPE WITH A LOSE LIGHTER INSIDE; ONCE OPENED THE SMELL OF PETROL HIT ME AND THE UNIT IGNITED ON IT'S SECOND STRIKE; IN THE WRONG HANDS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. Having the ability to design and produce a safe transportation method I felt it necessary to manufacturer and distribute 'THE TRANSPORTER' . My Transporter still holds a 100% delivery success rate throughout the U.K. using 1st class Royal Mail signed for delivery service.
Worldwide distribution was paramount and continued to expand with help from the *ROYAL MAIL
who I would like to thank for they were the guardians of each and every parcel.

"WHY ARE THE ROYAL MAIL TAKING USED PETROL LIGHTERS?"
SENDING INTERNATIONAL
I have come across this question several times and have my own answer. A used petrol lighter may be free of fuel for twenty years; yet it is still taken and destroyed!!!
WHY?
It is not an offence to send a new unit so I thought about differentiating between a new and used petrol lighter. When I worked it out it was obvious; my answer is CARBON/OIL. After prolonged use any petrol lighter will have a considerable amount of carbon/oil build up; as these are both organic they will show up in the screening process as orange. Machines cannot take risks when differentiating between fuel carbon or oil, therefore it is deemed dangerous so the lighter is taken and destroyed. The only possible way around this seems to be to turn a used unit into a like new state. This will include a complete overhaul and replacement of removable parts. The lighter will need to be completely striped and thoroughly cleaned with degreaser then assembled with new wick, wadding and felt. There is no room for error, your judge is a machine and cannot be fooled.

"FROM FLINTLOCK TO ZIPPO - FACTS OF FLAME"
The first lighters were converted FLINTLOCK PISTOLS that used GUNPOWDER. One of the first lighters were invented by the German chemist named JOHANN WOLFGANG DOBEREINER in 1823 and was often called DOBEREINER'S lamp. This lighter worked by passing flammable hydrogen gas, produced in the lighter by a chemical reaction, over a metal catalyst which in turn caused it to ignite and give off a great amount of heat and light. The device was very large and highly dangerous, it fell out of production by the end of the 19th century.
The patenting of FERROCERIUM (often misidentified as FLINT) by CARL AUER VON WELSBACH in 1903 has made modern lighters possible, when scratched it produces a large SPARK which is responsible for lighting the fuel of many lighters (also inexpensive). Using CARL AUER VON WELSBACH'S flint, companies like RONSON were able to develop practical and easy to use lighters. In 1910 RONSON released the first PIST-O-LITER and in 1913 the company developed its first lighter, called the "WONDERLITE", which was a permanent match style of lighter.
The ZIPPO lighter and company were invented and founded by GEORGE G. BLAISDELL in 1932. The ZIPPO was noted for its reliability, "LIFE TIME WARRANTY" and marketing as "WIND-PROOF". Most early ZIPPOS used NAPHTHA as a fuel source. In modern times most of the world's lighters are produced in CHINA and THAILAND with BAIDE INTERNATIONAL being the world's largest producer of lighters.
MANY THANKS
